Falling in Love

I can't explain what is happening to me
I feel like a bird in a cage
Who has just been set free

In total awe of the world
Like a child of five
Wanting to discover everything
And being completely alive

With questions and wonder
And no worries of the next day
Learning and growing
And just wanting to play

Yet settling into adulthood
So calm and serene
A happy, complete
Fulfilled human being

New eyes see a sunset
New ears hear a bird sing
New thoughts of the future
And what tomorrow will bring

I can't explain what is happening to me
But I think it is called love
And this is the way it is supposed to be

O MAGIC TREE

O magic tree, lift our hearts
Like branches to the sky
Let wondrous love surround us
From up high

Let not a man know fear or pain
But only everlasting peace
For clouds do come and rain must fall
But after all, the love's unleashed

O magic mountain, I love your height
You stand so tall and show your might
You protect us all and give your land
A cozy spot to sit or stand

O magic fields, your grass grows tall
The wind blows through to touch us all
A flower grows, the leaves unfold
What beauty for the eyes to hold
O bumble bee, you hum a tune
And fly about in May or June

O magic world, don't leave me now
I'll do my best to keep you safe
For after all, it's heaven on earth
The very same place

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

This is not the time for hatred
Although it seems right and just
Just close your eyes and breathe
And know forgiveness is a must

Hearts are sad and broken
Tears come flowing down
It's so hard to smile
And erase the frozen frown

But try to know in time
All men meet their Maker,
and justice will somehow win
For we are not the judges
For those who commit the sins

So you see how hatred is not the answer
For from it only more hatred grows
Let's find another answer
Another seed to sow

Let's try love and faith in God
For He will ease our pain
And remember the Universe promises
A rainbow after all the rain

PRAYERS

MORNING PRAYER

I thank you God for this day
In which I live and love and pray

For all the goodness you bestow
Is all mine for me to know

I want to thank You with all my heart
For all I have and for my part

Which I will share so all will know
That You are with us wherever we go
Amen

MEAL PRAYER

I thank you God for this food I eat
Be it great or small or just a treat

You will give all that I need
All comes from love, yes, indeed

How great Thou art
Within my heart

Please keep me safe
Within your grace
Amen

EVENING PRAYER

I thank you God for this day that's passed
I hope I've done all that You have asked

For each day You give to me
I shall have for eternity

As I sleep please guide me too
For the other tasks that I may do

Each day and night I am blessed
All You ask is I do my best

A Father full of love and grace
Who shines His light on every day

And then brings night with stars above
And still encompasses me with love

Please keep me safe all night long
As I await tomorrow's dawn
                            Amen

TO REMEMBER GOD

I do believe with all my heart
That I have known You from the start

To remember You is all I ask
It need not be a difficult task

And yet I know this I can do
With a little help from You

If I just listen and learn to love
I can remember You up above

Because I know You are always here
To lend a hand, to wipe a tear

All my answers can be found
Within my heart, I am not bound

The freedom lies in one small word
Yet great it is, for all to be heard

Forgive them all, be large or small
I will help to love them all

For in this love that I shall give
I will be happy in this life I live

Because this love will come back to me
And I shall remember God for all eternity

SIMPLICITY

I long for the simplicity
Of sitting under a tree
In the wide open fields of barley
Where no one will bother me

Where the sun peeks through the branches
Of my giant old oak tree
As the gentle breeze flutters across my face
And the bright blue sky looks down on me

So calm and still is this
My slice of quiet space
Just God and I to share
This peaceful loving place

I know He is always with me
And this place is not too hard to find
For I can always close my eyes
And go there in my mind
