  An Inauspicious Beginning

    As an unwed, pregnant fifteen year-old, Nancy Marie's adult life started early. Unfortunately a series of poor choices made it a difficult and unhappy life. When she fled her homicidal, alcoholic, and abusive husband for the safety of the Colorado Rockies, her problems did not end. She left the abuse behind but her financial problems were just beginning.
    Within the first three years of her residence in Colorado, Nancy Marie lost two homes to foreclosure, had her car repossessed, and had eleven credit cards canceled. She was also slowly losing her life-long battle with depression. Finally at the age of forty-four, Nancy Marie's depression sent her to a physician.
    Diagnosed with clinical depression, an anxiety disorder, suffering from both panic attacks and bi-polar disease, eighty milligrams of Prozac, twenty milligrams of Valium, and twelve milligrams of Tegretol daily, could not heal her. A friend recommended a church, and it was there, when she surrendered to Jesus, that Nancy Marie found healing.
    Today, Nancy Marie likes to joke that she had to lose everything, including most of her mind before she would surrender to the LORD's healing touch. She has been off all medications ever since.

God's Personal Promise

When we listen, God speaks to us through his LIVING WORD, the Bible. The promises He makes there are the same for today as they were for yesterday, and as they will be for tomorrow.

This is Nancy Marie's personal promise from God "quickened" into her heart shortly after she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

But those that wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
